Abstract

Law n° 190 of 13^th December 2023 reforms regulation pertaining the profession of tourist guide and introduces uniform rules for the land. The European Union has long requested this legal intervention, putting it among the targets of National Recovery and Resilience Plan for tourism sector. The new rules follow a line of continuity with the previous, given that the access to this regulated profession has ever been subjected to a qualifying exam since Royal Decree n° 62 of 21^st January 1929. Some specific aspects of the reform, not its general frame, could not be fully compliant to the EU laws and to the pro-competition acquis communautaire, requiring further adjustment.
