Abstract
The social inspectorate function of the Regional Guarantor Authorities for children and adolescents still represents an aspect little investigated by legal and sociological science, but nevertheless represents a topic on which the Regional Guarantors themselves, starting from the national regulation, which is indeed incomplete , intend to make improvements with the aim of enhancing and maximizing the protection of minors.
The work certainly does not intend to retrace the evolution of the figure of the Regional Ombudsmen for Children and Adolescents, who, in the perspective of maximizing what was stated by the 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and by the European Convention on the Rights of Children of 1996, like the national one, should operate as "in- dependent expert figures [...] present in the area, easily accessible, capable of perceiving with a non-sectoral approach the actual condition of childhood and adolescence in their area.
